I AM - One of many, many of One tells the story of memory loss, displacement, tradition and survival using projected video, live music and Afrofuturistic storytelling. Originally premiered at Summerhall in 2023 as winner of the Eclipse Award, it was nominated for the Filipa Bragança Award for outstanding performance and received the Lustrum Award for most memorable show.
I AM - A Walking Universe tells the story of systemic medical racism in the UK, based on LULA.XYZ’s actual experience of Uterine Fibroids whereby she was told by a white doctor that she was suffering “the black woman’s curse”.
